Miss Honey is starting the new school year at Autism Collier Charter School 🧩—and she’s ready to help this hive of learners bee-lieve in themselves every day! 💛🐾

As a facility dog, Miss Honey is specially trained to work alongside Educators and Therapists to support students with autism. She helps create a calmer, more welcoming learning environment by:
✨ Providing comfort during stressful moments and helping students regulate emotions and navigate big feelings
✨ Promoting positive social interactions with peers and building communication skills
✨ Guiding students through transitions and changes in routine with confidence
✨ Offering quiet companionship that helps reduce sensory overwhelm
✨ Increasing engagement and participation during school activities

Miss Honey is here to make every student feel seen, valued, and supported—turning the school year into something truly sweet. 🍯🐾

For many Autistic individuals, anxiety, sensory overload, or dysregulation can be a nearly constant struggle. That’s where Deep Pressure Therapy (DPT) can be incredibly beneficial — a calming technique that uses firm, gentle pressure to help soothe the nervous system.

Our Topaz Assistance Dogs are specially trained to offer this kind of physical support. Like a weighted blanket, they may lay across a lap, rest their head on a chest, or gently lean into a body — providing grounding, safety, and calm in moments that just feel too big.

To the outside world, it might look like snuggles.
To the child, it feels like relief. 🩵

For many of the children we serve, this isn’t just helpful — it’s absolutely life-changing. ✨

Not all who wander are lost, but about 1 in 4 children with autism who wander are missing long enough to cause significant concern. Of those who elope, 65% have had a close call with traffic, and 24% were at risk of drowning.

For Lincoln’s family, this wasn’t just a statistic — it was their daily reality. They implemented extensive safety measures: door alarms, GPS trackers, special locks, and behavioral strategies — doing everything they could to keep him safe in his own environment.

Then came Rupee, Lincoln’s Topaz Assistance Dog. Trained to track and locate Lincoln swiftly when all else fails, Rupee provides peace of mind that goes beyond other interventions — a loyal companion who ensures that even if Lincoln wanders, he will always be found. 🦮🐾🩵
