That’s normal.
The range gives you perfect lies and no pressure. The course forces you to think, pick targets, deal with bad lies, and actually play.
If you’re not practicing on the course, you’re not really getting better.
This is the towel drill.
Place a towel under both arms and make swings without letting it fall.
The goal isn’t to “hold it tight” — it’s to keep your arms and body moving together.
Most golfers swing with their hands and arms first, which causes inconsistent contact, slices, and no real control.
This drill trains proper sequencing so your body leads and your arms follow.
