John 19:30- When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
“Tetelestai” is the legal term Jesus used in John 19:30, meaning “it is finished” or “paid in full”. It means a debt has been paid in full. Our penalty was nailed to the cross. Paid in full. Absolutely!!! What gracious mercy.
Colossians 2:14 -having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.
