I fall in love with Tommy all over again every day; I can’t believe it’s been a YEAR since that first date when we shut the place down and had to move outside to a picnic table to continue the conversation… I got home about 1:36AM and felt like I was HIGH, and couldn’t wait to see him again, but was so worried that maybe I had been “too much” (I always feel that way when meeting new people); but the next morning, he wanted to plan another date ASAP so we did!
… and then we just kept on doing that! 😅 Here we are, a year later, and I’m as happy as can be. I can’t wait to see what our future has in store. This relationship has made me feel so safe, affirmed, considered, and loved, more than I knew was possible. I’ve never felt that I needed to minimize any part of myself or downplay any perceived flaws. Everything just feels good, and right; like I was meant to find him all along.
Dating is hard as hell, and for many of us, frankly… Traumatic. I want to tell people who are in it now, to keep burning the haystack to find your needle. Do not settle, because the good ones DO exist. The right ones ARE out there. There are potential partners who want to talk to you, spend time with you, make you smile, learn all about you, be transparent with you about themselves; who have goals and values aligned with yours, and are a great match for you!!
