Forney Police Department

At the June 2nd City Council meeting, Chief White presented JD Bowdoin with a Certificate of Special Recognition for his outstanding performance at the 2026 Special Olympics Texas State Summer Games.

Representing the Rockwall County Special Olympics Delegation, JD earned three gold medals in the 25 Meter Walk, Tennis Ball Throw, and Fundamental Games. In addition to his success with Special Olympics, JD has also proudly represented Forney ISD in Track and Field competition at the state level. JD's dedication, perseverance, and hard work continue to inspire our community. Congratulations!🎉

It is time for our annual Lemonade Contest where the kids get to showcase their tasty beverages. If you are interested in having a stand in the contest, please email the address listed on the flyer. All others, please come out to the Forney Police Department on June 29th and buy a cup or three of refreshing lemonade.

Currently the water is high at the intersection of FM 1641/FM 548. Motorists traveling north on 1641 must use Rockhound through Fox Hollow to avoid the intersection. Please avoid the area, giving the high waters time to recede.
We ask all motorists to utilize caution when driving on wet roads. If you are unsure of the depth of water, do not go through it, find another route.

**Update** We were able to take all subjects into custody without incident. Area residents may resume normal activities. Thank you to our Law Enforcement partners for the assistance in this matter.

Residents of Fox Hollow, due to a robbery incident, we have activated the SWAT Team and there is a large police presence in the 200 block of Hound Hollow. We are asking that all citizens avoid that area and residents near the area remain in your homes. We appreciate your cooperation and will update when the area can resume normal operation.
