Now the Village of Batamateng, Northern Ghana has clean water within their village. No more long walks through the bush for disgusting water. No more children dying from preventable diseases.
Mathare, one of the many slums of Nairobi, Kenya. Here, a population greater than that of Denver lives in less than 1/2 square mile. Those are close quarters! This is the home of many of the children that attend Mogra Star school. Lots of water runs through the passage ways between the extremely small shelters, and it all looks much like this. Full of who knows what.

These women in the village of Kampala, Northern Region, Ghana, West Africa are celebrating. They had no water, well at least no water that was fit to consume, for 28 years. They had tried to drill water wells and were never successful. The neighboring villages would chase them off when they went there to get water so they were forced to go to the river and get nasty water and chance encountering crocodiles when they got there. Life is not easy. commissioned a well to be drilled. It was successful and the entire village turned out to celebrate. This photo was taken during that celebration. Now the neighboring villages are coming to them for water!
