Still have Windows 7 on your computer? What should you do about it? Upgrade to Windows 10?
After 10 years, support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020. If you continue to use Windows 7 after support has ended, your PC will still work, but it will become more vulnerable to security risks and viruses because you will no longer receive software updates, including security updates, from Microsoft. Microsoft strongly recommends that you move to a new PC running Windows 10 to avoid a situation where you need service or support that is no longer available.
That recommendation can be good if in fact your current PC's specifications do not meet the system requirements to run Windows 10. If it does meet the system requirements or if a simple hardware upgrade is required such as additional memory it is much more cost effective to keep your PC and upgrade it to Windows 10. You can keep all your files and applications that you have installed for the most part and right now you can do so with out the additional cost of paying for a retail version of Windows 10.
You can upgrade to Windows 10 free right from Microsoft's website at the following link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10.
You can upgrade keeping your files and apps and Windows will be automatically activated with a digital license at no cost for the license. This is not advertised but from our recent experience upgrading hundreds of PCs from Windows 7 to Windows 10 using this method, every Windows 10 update has activated successfully.
As mentioned, it is not advertised but our belief is that it is another way Microsoft is getting as many people to adopt Windows 10 as possible. Basically the same strategy they used as when they gave away the upgrade for free in the beginning of Windows 10.
Since it is not advertised and not widely known publicly, we have no idea how long this will be available. For the obvious future security issues to continue to run Windows 7 and the uncertainty of how long this free upgrade will be available, we obviously recommend you update to Windows 10 soon.

Greatly appreciated are the members of the West Freeway Church of Christ that exercise their 2nd Amendment Rights and swiftly pulled their weapons and took down that active shooter. If it weren't for them there would have been many more church members shot and possibly killed. Thank you!
