Last night, 896 & 897 answered a 1 alarm fire in the vacant apartments at S Zang & Argentia. First in companies found heavy fire showing from one of the vacant buildings. Crews were able to knock the fire down quickly.
Box 4 is the official provider of rehab services for Dallas Fire-Rescue. Box 4 Firebuffs is a volunteer staffed 501(c)3 charitable organization.
The busy weekend for Box 4 continues tonight. At 1845, 896 & 897 responded to a call for mutual aid in Wilmer, TX at 2804 Miller Ferry Rd. Wilmer fire crews had been out since early afternoon battling a large mulch pile fire. Once the cold front arrived, the high winds made their work much more difficult so they requested rehab to the scene. 829 also responded with us to provide air bottle refill and supply.

Just after 6 this morning, 896 answered what would eventually become a 2 alarm fire at the Campisi’s restaurant at 5405 W Lovers Ln. T27 arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the roof. The fire was traced to the area between the outer roof and inner ceiling. Access was very difficult and it required cutting numerous holes in the roof to eventually extinguish.
