This beauty turns the big 5-O today!! We've been dating for 35 years. She's been my girl since she was 15 and she's never been more gorgeous. Happy Birthday Haley! Love you!
As I continue to hear the news and see the images of missing campers from the flooding in south Texas, it's heartbreaking on so many levels. I feel it as a parent and grandparent. I feel it as a pastor that has sent so many kids to camp. I feel it as the founder and director of a kids camp.
I just can't imagine.
We are in relationship with people who know many of these missing girls personally. Our hearts break for everyone connected to this.
And for all the people in these local communities.
Please join us in prayer.
God have mercy.

We are almost there!!
We so close to the goal!!
I’m preparing this post late Sunday evening on Father’s Day, having just left a chapel service full of men and women that have sacrificed time from their own families and taken vacation time to invest in children who desperately need to feel loved. This gathering happens before every camp to prepare our hearts to receive a new group of kids who will bring their unique needs to the ranch, but there’s always something special about this gathering on Father’s Day.
When I look at all the men in the room who have committed to be a father figure to a child that doesn’t have one, it wrecks me...in a good way.
These people’s service and your generosity are making an incredible impact on the lives of children. For example, here’s just one small sampling of a communication we received from a foster mom whose kids attended camp last week. She said:
"I have two foster kids that just returned from Camp today in happy tears because it was so amazing. I promised them we will go again next year. I don’t know how to thank you and everyone else for everything y’all did for K and N. I don’t know what words to use and what I could do that could ever show how much it means to me. Thank you!"
Foster families are the real heroes in this fight for neglected children. We just get to come along beside them and assist in the healing journey. And as you can see, you are helping all of us make a massive difference.
At the time of this post, we are only $22,851 short the total budget to fund every camp and sponsor every camper this summer. The total budget for this year’s camps was $210,000. Thanks to the generosity of a lot of people, we are almost there! Can you help us cross the finish line?
