Dr . Shirley Ann Jackson was is a distinguished physicist and a leader in the field of science and technology born on August 5 , 1946 in Washington , D.C.

Dr . Adams became the first African American woman to earn her Ph.D from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in any discipline when she earned her doctorate in theoretical elementary particle physics in 1973 .

She has conducted research AT&T Bell Laboratories and laid the ground work for Caller ID , call waiting , fiber optic cable , the touchstone phone and the portable fax machine .

In 1995 , she was appointed Chair of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission by President Bill Clinton , becoming the first woman AND the first African American to hold the position !

A plane ✈️ has crashed in North Eastern Philadelphia. Large explosion and multiple casualties 🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿

According to ABC News, the medical plane that crashed in Northeast Philadelphia was flying a pediatric patient, along with 5 others on board at the time of the crash. 😢
