As October draws to a close it's time for the Arise Spotlight of the Month! Today we're highlighting our Lunch Connections Coordinator, Sarah Allen! In the words of Sarah, "I'm so grateful God didn't let me get the things I wanted, and that he gave me all the things I never did. Talk about putting a new song on my lips!"
Facts:
If you weren't at DTS: She would've gotten her masters in journalism at NYU.
Program: ThM - Likely emphasizing in New Testament with a passion for cross cultural/international ministry and church planting
What do you think God is teaching you this semester: To pack for the right trip. I'm getting to a place in my degree where class choice starts counting- and I've noticed it can be easy the further in I get to lose who I am by comparing mine to the journeys of others. I'm learning that God has an adventure for me, and that the classes I take now are preparing me for those future journey's. Not that I can "mess it up," but I'd rather not pull up to the snowy mountains in shorts and a t-shirt. Packing for the right trip- the classes that will prepare me for the things he has given me unique passion and gifts for- is something I'm learning is a really good thing.
If you could watch any Disney movie for the rest of your life what would it be: Hands down Robin Hood- what a Fox! 🦊
