The Lone Star Hi Railers came together for their 2nd annual appreciation BBQ @ Mark Coleman's Ranch Saturday to celebrate for all the hard work and dedication volunteering for all the special events we do during the year such as the Train Shows; North Texas Council of Railroad Clubs Plano Train Show, Lone Star Hi Railers dba Train-A-Palooza, Grapevine "Day Out With Thomas" and TCA The National Train Show.

WE KNOW HOW TO HAVE FUN!

The Lone Star Hi Railers ole school when it was the Lone Star 3 Railers back in the day. Each year the Lone Star Hi Railers set up a portable layout next to the Grapevine, Texas Depot Station for DAY OUT WITH THOMAS. For two weeks the public comes to enjoy not only the layout but the event sponsored by the CIty of Grapevine and Mattel. Since then the Lone Star Hi Railers have built a new portal with construction technology that affords itself in easier moving and setup. ENJOY the ATTACHED youtube!

WHY I JOINED A MODEL RAILROAD CLUB

WHO ARE THE Lone Star Hi Railers

* We are one of the largest Model Train Clubs in North Texas

* Our home is Grapevine, Texas

* We sponsor one of the largest model train shows in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex called "TRAIN-A-PALOOZA" twice a year in December and March

* The City of Grapevine, Texas gives us a Southern #771 Steam locomotive with a Barnum Bailey's 70 ft baggage car that we have a 65' layout in it for the club members and the general public to run "O" gauge model trains.

* We also have a 12' x 28' model train layout in the Grapevine Visitor's Center on Main St., Grapevine, Texas for the public to run trains

* Each year we set up a 12' x 21' modular "O" gauge layout at the Depot in Grapevine, Texas for 10 days in October for the "DAY OUT WITH THOMAS" event to run trains for the public.

* Our membership currently is 80 members strong that volunteer for special events like the North Texas Council Railroad Club's Plano Train Show twice a year in September and January in Plano, Texas.

* We have built our third modular layout to present at special events. This layout is state of the art construction using techniques that present itself for mobility transportation.

* Our Board of DIrectors have a mindset of "THE FUTURE and BEYOND"

* As President of the Lone Star Hi-Railers, I invite you to come see our layout and run trains in the baggage car on Saturdays and Sundays located at 410 W. Dallas St., Grapevine, Texas.
