I found out that the mold wasn’t toxic but the landlords weren’t willing to make all the necessary repairs in a time that worked for me. I had a big family event approaching that was stressful enough and didn’t need the headache of a broken roof and a kitchen that was in shambles, so I decided to go.

Part II- The Aftermath, The Mold and The Kitchen
I began to consider my options about whether or not this home was for me. I poured a glass Chardonnay and tripped over a lump in the hardwood ; a lump that I knew wasn’t there before. After finding a flashlight and three relaxing glasses of Chardonnay later it wasn’t my self-pity or the wine that made me trip but the entire hardwood was buckling beneath my feet.
