Before the Maddox family ever stepped into the world of hat manufacturing with American Hat Company, there was The Best Hat Store. What started as a small Western retail shop quickly grew into something far greater. A trusted destination where cowboys, cowgirls, ranchers, rodeo athletes, and working hands could walk through the door knowing they’d leave with a hat that truly fit both their head and their way of life.

Over the past 30 years, The Best Hat Store has built a reputation for knowledge, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way. From shaping hats by hand to understanding the traditions behind them, the store became known as a place where the Western lifestyle isn’t just sold, it’s lived.

Today, Susan Maddox leads the charge for both The Best Hat Store and American Hat Company, carrying forward the same values the store was built on: authenticity, quality, and a deep respect for the people who wear these hats every day. ➕✖️🇺🇸
