Lest we forget…

It’s always heartbrekaing at the ceremony, but honored to read off the names of our heroes at Coppell Patriot Day Ceremony and be able to share a bit of their story:

Thomas Mingione-34‚ firefighter with Ladder 132 in Brooklyn, beloved husband‚ cherished son‚ loving brother‚ fond nephew‚ special uncle‚ and adored cousin and friend.

John T. Vigiano II-36, firefighter with Ladder 132 in Brooklyn‚ enjoyed life, family especially his wife‚ Maria and their two daughters‚ Nicolette (6) and Ariana (3).

Sergio Villanueva-32, firefighter‚ FDNY‚ Ladder 132, was engaged to be married‚ had spent eight years as a New York City police officer before joining the FDNY.

Michael Joseph Cawley-32, firefighter‚ FDNY‚ Ladder 136, was having breakfast at Rescue 4 when the call came in to go to the World Trade Center, graduate of State University College in Oswego‚ Cawley always wanted to be a firefighter.

Capt. Terence S. Hatton-41, FDNY‚ Rescue 1, twenty year veteran, deployed after the Oklahoma City bombing and the TWA Flight 800 plane crash off Long Island.

Chief Frederick Claude Scheffold Jr.-57, 32-year career with the NYC Fire Department, on the morning of September 11th he was just finishing his 24-hour tour as a Battalion Chief in East Harlem, rushed to the scene along with the chief who was relieving him, not obligated to respond to the alarm but he did so out of sense of duty and the simple fact that he knew his help and expertise would be needed.

Lt. Charles Joseph Margiotta-44, FDNY‚ Battalion 22, 20-year FDNY veteran, worked as a stuntman in dozens of feature films, including Hannibal, private investigator‚ a substitute teacher‚ and a soccer coach, heard the news about the World Trade Center on his truck radio and rushed to the nearest firehouse in Staten Island to join the rescue efforts.

Lt. Geoffrey E. Guja-47, lieutenant‚ FDNY‚ Battalion, also a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital in Rockville Center, was on light duty when the alarm for the World Trade Center sounded, got on the subway and geared up with another company to respond to the emergency.

Lt. Anthony Jovic-39, lieutenant‚ FDNY‚ Ladder 34, was studying for the captain’s exam, father of two‚ enjoyed miniature golf‚ bowling‚ and swimming with his family in their backyard pool.

Chief Joseph Grzelak-52, Engine 279‚ Ladder 80‚ Engine 282‚ Engine 155‚ Engine 204‚ Battalion 38 and ended his career on 9/11 at Battalion 48 in Brooklyn, enlisted in the US Marine Corps, served in Vietnam from 1968-1969 and was honorably discharged, married his wife Joanne on March 9‚ 1974. He has two daughters‚ Kristie‚ age 26‚ and Debra‚ age 23.

19 terrorists, nearly 3,000 killed, but as one nation, under God, we stood tall and will continue to shine above and beyond.
