The 2026 Point-in-Time (PIT) count has been scheduled for the night of January 22, 2026. The PIT count is a census of neighbors in our community who are experiencing homelessness. It is a requirement under Federal Law and helps our community understand the extent of homelessness, changing trends, and the measure of success in making homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring. During the count, volunteers, just like you, and outreach workers will take a census of our neighbors experiencing homelessness across Dallas and Collin counties.

How can you help?
We need YOU to help us by volunteering to participate in the count and engage with our unhoused neighbors throughout Dallas and Collin counties. We provide training and detailed instructions to help you prepare for the count; previous experience is not required. Additionally, we host kick-off meetings the night of the count, where you can receive additional training and tips before the count begins, so you will feel confident participating.
