This weeks Featured Artist of The Week is The Nghiems!

Currently in the studio, Oklahoma City’s The Nghiems continues to evolve between records. The band’s second release, Soulmatic (2018), represented a significant departure from the group’s earlier work. The Pine Tree The Mushroom and The End of The World (2010) was a saccharine and jangly album filled with sing-along choruses and psychedelic flourishes. Soulmatic, on the other hand, ventures to sound simultaneously futuristic and old, retaining the group’s endearing optimism amid swelling synthesizers and drum loops.

The Nghiems originally began as a duo with brothers David Nghiem (vocals/keys/guitar) and James Nghiem (drums). Derek Moore (guitar), Dylan Eubanks (guitar) and Mike Allen (bass) round out the band.
