It starts out simply as a facebooker’s opinion: “People Should Stop Dying!” A Socially Responsible thing to say and something easily agreed with.

However the extortion is perpetrated by a call to action that borders joining a cult: “Click SHARE if you agree!” Or ”1 SHARE = 1 Salute”.

One Serial Victim stated: “It’s the pull in your consciousness that has you wanting to ignore it but they say if you aren’t a coward to show your friends then you must click ‘SHARE’. It really leaves you in a social conundrum!”

A sure sign of Click-SHARE Extortion is the victim count; Usually in the range of 0 to 4 shares on the post.

A self-appointed Facebook Enforcement Officer commented on the victim counts “Do not let the victim counts on perpetrated Click-Share Extortionist’s posts fool you. The psychological damage experienced by the victims is psychosis inducing. The fear in the Facebook Enforcement community is that these extortionist posts turn into movements. How do you fight that?”
