If you’re already taking down Christmas around the house today, we’ve got good news! 🌲 Our live Christmas tree recycling program begins today, Dec. 26 through Sunday, Jan. 4, 2026. Flower Mound Parks and Recreation will be mulching live, unflocked Christmas trees at Gerault Park (1200 Gerault Rd.). Residents can bring their trees from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day to be mulched. If you’d like to take some of the mulch, make sure to bring your own container.

This recycling program is only for residents and will not be available to commercial Christmas tree businesses. Trees cannot be flocked and must have all the nails and decorations removed. Lumber and trash will not be allowed.

You can also dispose of your tree by putting it at the curb on your regular trash day for Republic Services to collect. Make sure to double check the tree for any ornaments or lights before you put it out.
