We Need You Right Now

When life feels overwhelming, who do you call first?

“Call on Me in a day of trouble; I will rescue you, and you will honor Me.”

Every one of us reaches moments when our own wisdom and strength are not enough. We search for answers, but the solution seems out of reach. That is when we are reminded to call on the Lord.

As we look at the challenges facing our families, communities, and nation, we can see our deep need for God’s guidance and mercy. He invites us to bring every burden to Him with confidence, promising to hear us and come to our aid.

Like Amanda Berry Smith, the 19th-century evangelist whose unwavering faith carried her through hardship and into ministry around the world, we can trust God to sustain us when we cry out to Him.

Today, don’t carry your troubles alone. Call on Jesus. We need Him right now.

Testimony Tuesday | He Came
Have you ever stopped to ask yourself why Jesus came into the world?

📖 1 Timothy 1:15 (HCSB)
“This saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance: ‘Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners’—and I am the worst of them.”

The greatest rescue mission in history began with God's love for mankind. Jesus did not come to make us famous or wealthy. He came to save us from sin and restore our relationship with the Father.

If no one else needs a Savior, I know I do. Jesus proved His love by leaving heaven, taking on human flesh, experiencing hunger, exhaustion, rejection, suffering, and ultimately death on the cross so that our sins could be forgiven.

That is why He came—for you and for me.

Like John Chavis, one of the first African American Presbyterian ministers and educators in the United States, who faithfully proclaimed the Gospel despite enormous obstacles, we are called to share the good news that Christ came to save sinners.

Today, celebrate the greatest gift ever given: Jesus came!
