Tips to keep in mind about the “One Big Beautiful Bill”

The OBBB pushes up the standard deduction amounts: for 2025 it’s raised (for example married couples filing jointly get $31,500; singles get $15,750)

For 2026 it bumps again: married filing jointly now $32,200; single $16,100; heads of household $24,150

It retains (makes permanent) many of the 2017 tax cuts that were going to sunset.
