Hello friends!

I'm sad to inform you -

I’ve run into an issue with obtaining my local city business license due to restrictions related to my rental property. While I have everything else in place, this has prevented me from moving forward as a home-based cottage food producer at this time. At this point, my only options would be to secure access to a licensed commercial/incubator kitchen or to operate from a property I own.

I truly appreciate the opportunity to share my jarred goods with you all, and I was genuinely looking forward to being involved more with my community. However, it’s very important to me that I remain fully compliant with all regulations, and I wouldn’t want to risk causing any issues.

With that in mind, I’m very disappointed to say that I will need to temporarily close business. Thank you so much for your understanding, and I sincerely hope to be back up and running once everything is resolved!

There is something truly special about taking fresh, natural ingredients and transforming them into something that can be savored long after the season has passed.

The Rooted Jar is more than just a business. It’s a return to wholesome living. A celebration of real flavors, honest ingredients, and the art of slowing down. Every jar is made by hand, with purpose and care—crafted not just to taste good, but to feel good.

As I grow, so does The Rooted Jar. And with it, my hope is to share this journey with others—bringing people together through food that is real, meaningful, and made with heart.

Because sometimes, the simplest things are the most powerful… and the most rooted.

At The Rooted Jar, it is my goal to source most produce from farmers markets and local producers so that when you purchase from us you are essentially helping other local businesses as well!

With the help of our community, donations allow The Rooted Jar to continue to have the funds to source local produce and craft jarred goods for the community to enjoy.

Trying out some new tea jelly flavors! 🍵

New HB 398 updated July 1, 2025 now allows cottage food producers to sell their items to retail food establishments! This is great as it allows small local businesses to expand their sales aside from just direct and online.

I would love to collaborate with some local businesses and discuss opportunities to sell my items at their establishment. It would be another amazing way to connect with the community while bringing handcrafted local goodness to everyone.
