⭐️U&I’s Day Program provides individuals with disabilities with a structured, supportive environment focused on building independence, life skills, and real-world work readiness. Through hands-on activities, vocational training, and social development, participants gain practical experience in areas like communication, teamwork, and daily living while engaging in meaningful routines that promote confidence and personal growth. As part of U&I’s broader mission, Academy Instructors, Julia Ollison and Angela Billings, have created pathways to paid work opportunities and community involvement, helping individuals transition into more independent and fulfilling lives.

⭐️Employee Spotlight - “I am Reyna Estrada. I am the Program Implementation Specialist at U&I, where I’m passionate about supporting individuals as they build independence, confidence, and a sense of purpose in both work and everyday life. I work in both a warehouse setting and out in the community, leading group outings and creating meaningful opportunities for real-world learning, connection, and growth.
During our daily sessions, we focus on developing work skills, life skills, teamwork, and social relationships through hands-on tasks and shared experiences. I enjoy getting to know each individual, helping them discover their strengths, and supporting them as they stay engaged and take pride in what they accomplish. I also incorporate daily exercise to encourage healthy habits and overall well-being in a way that feels positive and achievable.
Outside of the warehouse, I provide community-based job coaching for individuals gaining work experience. I support them in learning job tasks, building routines, and adjusting to different work environments. This includes breaking tasks down into manageable steps, offering hands-on and verbal guidance, and gradually fading support to build independence over time. I also focus on developing soft skills such as communication, problem-solving, and workplace professionalism, while encouraging positive interactions with supervisors and coworkers.
My goal is to help each individual feel confident, capable, and successful, both in their work and in their everyday lives.”
