Here is what happened at the Bandera ProRodeo on Sunday night. This is why this weekend was a bit emotional. Some of you know, many do not. But since this is what was aired on the Cowboy Channel on Sunday its now out of the bag for the world. My only kidney failed last year and its been a battle ever since. From multiple doctor appointments to just the daily struggle with low energy and joints hurting so bad that its hard to just walk. Top that off that this has emptied our savings accounts. Instead of finishing up our house in Oklahoma and getting ready to move in, its just sitting there waiting to be finised. We visit it once a month to make sure its still there and of course its still sitting right where we put it. But its still a great deal of money away from being finished. Not sure when we will be able to finish it.
Then the Texas Spirit Riders and Bandera ProRodeo Association came together this weekend to surprise me and not only changed their rodeo colors this weekend to Purple (my favorite color) and Green (for Kidney Disease Awareness) they also started a go fund me campaign. I did not ask them to do this nor have ever thought I was worth the time to create one. But they did. They went from a drill team and committee to family I didnt see coming. They became immediate family, not just a rodeo family. So Please if you can give it helps us more than you would ever know, even if it is only a dollar everything helps right now. This is a fight I didnt see coming nor ever asked for. And before any suggests JCCF or WSF, as soon as this happened last year I reached out to both. Both had the same answer: "If it didn't happen in the arena, there is nothing they can do." And this didnt happen in the arena, it happened over time. Of course if you can't donate, I understand. I see the price of fuel now!!! But please at least share this with your people and your groups. And just incase you have the ability to or just want to donate a kidney, I am type O, the hardest Blood type to match with.
