Miss Mia came in today for her very first puppy cut and I’m pretty sure she knew she was adorable the entire time🖤

The puppy stage is such an important introduction to grooming. These first appointments are less about perfection and more about helping them build confidence with the process. The sounds of the clippers, the feel of brushing, being handled around the face and feet, all of it.

My goal is always to move at their pace and create a calm, positive experience so grooming becomes something familiar and safe instead of stressful. And Mia did AMAZING✨

And after all that hard work? We curled up on the couch together for a little nap while we waited for mom🥹

Chew knocked on my door bright and early this morning because he said he wasn’t spending another day in this heat with a full fur coat☀️😂

So today called for a fresh summer cut, a comfy groom, and getting this handsome little guy feeling light and cool again✂️

☀️ Meet Sunny ☀️

This sweet little ray of sunshine came in for her very first bath today and completely melted my heart.

For a puppy’s first grooming experience, she did SO incredibly well. Calm, curious, trusting, and full of golden retriever sweetness 🥹✨

One of the most important things to me with puppies is making those first grooming experiences feel safe, gentle, and positive. My goal is always to help grooming become something they can learn to feel comfortable with…not something scary or overwhelming. The first visits truly matter so much in shaping how they feel for years to come.

And Sunny absolutely soaked it all up like the little sunshine girl she is ☀️🛁

She was the perfect way to start my morning.

I’ve gone back and forth on sharing this, but I know how important it is🖤

For Stella, Tito, and Ollie, I chose to have them pass at home, in peace, where they felt safest. And I truly could not have done that without Lap of Love Veterinary Hospice.

Dr. Jess Lisak… I don’t even feel like words fully do her justice. She is one of the kindest souls I have ever met. You can feel instantly that this is exactly what she was meant to do. The way she moves through such a heavy moment with so much care, patience, and genuine compassion is something I will never forget.

The first time we had her, I just knew… if I ever had to go through this again, it would only be with her. And that never changed. I trusted her completely with my dogs, which says everything, because I don’t trust easily when it comes to them.

She doesn’t just do a job. She feels it with you. She honors your dog. She holds space for your grief in a way that makes something so painful feel a little more peaceful.

The entire Lap of Love team has been nothing but compassionate, gentle, and incredibly supportive through the hardest moments of my life.

I’m beyond grateful it was them. And especially her.
