I'm taking the end of February to share with you all what I LOVE about various aspects of what I do. Follow along to get to know me, a little more about OT, and all there is to love about it!

I LOVE that OT is person centered, and we really want to focus on what YOU want to focus on. I'm not going to make you practice things over and over that you are never going to do. But if something is important to you, we will find a way to fit it into your plan of care.

I LOVE that we are trained problem solvers, and will search for a solution that will be the right fit for you. This may be trial and error, may be adaptation or modification, may be a lot of thinking outside of the box, but we will work something out one way or another.

I LOVE that we take situations that we need to work on, and find a FUN way to increase your function.

I LOVE witnessing the joy of my clients when they are actively engaging in their life.

Staying active is important in all stages and ages, but especially as we age!

Why do you ask? Here are examples of just 5 pitfalls to inactivity as we age:

1. Inactivity can lead to a decline in muscle strength and mass, affecting mobility and increasing the risk of falls.

2. Lack of movement can contribute to joint stiffness and reduced flexibility, impacting range of motion and overall functional independence.

3. Inactivity is associated with decreased bone density, making older adults more susceptible to fractures and osteoporosis.

4. Sedentary behavior can lead to cardiovascular issues, including poor circulation, increased blood pressure, and higher risk of heart disease.

5. Inactivity may result in a decline in our daily tasks and activities (getting dressed, cooking, taking a shower, walking the dog), affecting our overall independence.

Let's combat these pitfalls with being active throughout the day!
