The Figurative Felines have been having a rough struggle to start their lives! Mama Irony gave birth shortly after entering foster care.  Unfortunately, even with the best conditions in place her babies have had a rough first few weeks of life!

One of her kittens, passed away shortly after birth.  We aren’t sure why but she did start life very small and was struggling to feed.  The next six babies had marginal weight gain over the first week of life and we noticed one seems to have some abnormalities to how she was peeing and pooping.  But at about a week of age, Mama Irony had a major behavioral change with increased anxiety. She stopped eating and drinking and then stopped making milk.  We tried pulling the most affected kittens first but ultimately had to pull all six babies to bottle feed.  Just a few hours after the babies left, mama was back to her loving, talkative self.

Since then, her babies have struggled with diarrhea and constipation and have not thrived the way we would like.  We started anticoccidial treatment earlier that we would normally, which has helped some of the babies improve, but they still aren’t where they should be. Many of them have intermittently required tube feeds to help them through days of poor feeding.  Hyperbole developed acute neurological symptoms yesterday and was ultimately placed on hospice care to pass peacefully cuddling with a foster.  Alliteration, Metaphor, and Oxymoron seem to be doing well at this point, Juxtaposition and Simile are still at high risk of a poor outcome. But we aren’t considering any of them safe.

We aren’t sure if this is a litter that has multiple genetic conditions, or if they just suffered an early, significant infection, but Mama Irony obviously knew something was wrong well before us.  This litter has been very hard on our team…from having to abruptly bottle fed 6, week-old, kittens to dealing with complicated medical issues and tube feeds.  Please keep our fosters and these tiny babies in your thoughts!

Mama Irony has graduated foster care and is available for adoption at The Cattery. This retired mama will no longer have to worry about keeping kittens alive out in the world!

Congratulations to Blu! He is ready to pounce out of his Foster’s home and into his new furrever home. He graduated this week and is playfully waiting for adoption day Cattery! 🎓

Blu is adventurous and loves hooman attention. Fun fact, he is also a great cuddler. In his time with us he grew up with his siblings so he knows how to share.

He spent some extra time with us because he developed a significant infection in his front leg. The swelling was so bad it required multiple antibiotics and surgical drainage. Due to the significant infection and swelling he does have some nerve damage to his foot. But no worries…he gets around great, and the vet didn’t think amputation was needed!

Blu didn’t mind his recovery time though because he got lots of attention and extra snuggles. Did we mention he has a cute little floppy ear now from his little adventure… it just makes him even more adorable in our opinion.

Royal Announcement! Princess Jasmine, Princess Belle, and Princess Aurora have officially graduated and are now accepting applications for their furever kingdoms!

These three sweet little sisters slayed it in foster care! They learned proper playful etiquette, mastered the art of napping, and also how to charm us hoomans for a treat without batting a whisker! They are excited and ready to fill their future homes with purrs, cuddles, and a touch of royal mischief.

They left this week in anticipation of the big day! Before then they only dreamed of attending the Royal Adoption Ball at Castle Cattery.

These little princesses are ready to rule their own castles with the purrfect furrever family. We are just as excited to see them get their happily-ever-after pics on adoption day!

If you would like to meet or adopt Aurora, Belle, or Jasmine please email the Cattery at:

The kittens have officially graduated! Congrats to Leek, Fennel and Scallion!!

Every garden starts with tiny seeds, and these three little sprouts blossomed while in foster care.
When Leek, Fennel, and Scallion first arrived, they were small, malnourished, and covered in fleas. Over the weeks, they grew stronger, and more confident, filling our days with playful antics, sweet snuggles, and endless purrs.

Leek grew into a handsome little explorer with a heart as warm as his orange coat. Scallion kept us smiling with his inquisitive nature and adorable expressions.Fennel blossomed into a beautiful sweetheart who could melt hearts with just one look.

While our garden may feel a little emptier without them, our hearts are full knowing they are ready to bloom in their loving furrever homes.

If you would like to meet and/or adopt Leek, Scallion or Fennel please email the Cattery at:
