🌸 Motherhood is such a thing to experience. Not quantifiable by any measurement that is tangible here on earth, we often try to put language around it so we can talk about how it changes us. It is a spiritual journey of self. Of sacrifice. Of love that is not expressed in any other form quite the same way.

It is special. And it is dangerous.

It tests every fiber of your being (mind & body) while also being water for the soul. Motherhood is sacred. It’s a state of being over a title given upon conception; an expression of joy while also costing you your entire being. Every metaphor you can think of representing spiritual love is available in motherhood. It’s not about being something or feeling something or doing things a certain way. It’s much more than that.

It’s becoming. A refining. Almost as if you are being drowned by the sea. And the sea overwhelms you with all the very best parts of life along with the hardest things you could ever possibly conceive in a lifetime. Washing over us day by day. Hour by hour. And we do it over and over again.

To the hard parts. The good parts. The loss. The gain. The joy and sorrow. Happy Mothers Day. The strength of a mother, I am convinced is unmatched in this world. 🌸
