This 2017 Volvo V60 Cross Country came into the shop for an important maintenance service—its timing belt replacement.

Replacing a timing belt on these vehicles isn't as simple as swapping out a belt. It requires specialized factory tools to precisely lock the engine timing in place while the old timing belt, tensioner, and idler pulleys are removed and replaced. Proper timing is critical to ensure the engine continues to run exactly as designed.

While everything was apart, we also installed a new drive belt and drive belt tensioner. Replacing these components at the same time helps prevent future issues and saves on labor down the road.

Preventative maintenance like timing belt replacement is one of the best ways to protect your engine from costly repairs and keep your Volvo performing reliably for years to come.
