Just wanted to let everyone know that A Petal Through Stone is a crime drama.

It’s more in line with authors like S. A. Cosby, Dennis Lehane, Don Winslow, and Richard Price or shows and films like The Wire, Training Day, Fresh and Snowfall.

A lot of you read my short story The Mark They Left last year, which leaned more into the thriller/mystery side. Part two of that story will be coming later this year, and it does connect to this world.

But I wanted to set expectations for what this novel is. This story starts at street level. The drugs, violence, broken people, and the city around them. It can be dark and brutal at times, but at its core it’s a very human story about people trying to survive, change, and find hope.

It may not be everyone’s usual style of book, and that’s okay. But I truly appreciate everyone supporting me and giving my debut novel a chance.

Look what just showed up… my proof copy of A Petal Through Stone. 🌼 I honestly can’t explain how excited I am right now. I’ve spent the last two years outlining, writing, editing, rewriting, formatting, and stressing over every detail of this book. And now I’m finally holding it in my hands.
