March 31 marks Trans Day of Visibility. A day to remind us all to hold space for the lives, labor, and exuberance of trans people, especially our Black trans community, who continue to shape and carry so much, often without the recognition or safety they deserve.
Let's remember the words of beloved ancestor Miss Major, “Don’t be complacent now. Don’t step back and be in the shadows… you’ve got to do it. You’ve got to, because I can’t do it alone. And I decided to come around and let you know—you’ve got to stand up and you’ve got to move on this. We can’t afford to not move.”

Here’s some of what the Black Q***r & Intersectional Collective (BQIC) has been working on lately.
We’ve hosted a whistle kit-making event for community defense, been organizing toward legal support for activists, co-hosted a James Baldwin conversation with partners, and collaborated on mutual aid—serving food and sharing supplies across the city. We’ve also been showing up for local events and sending members to trainings.
At the same time, we’re getting ready for Columbus Community Pride 2026.
