Stop the guesswork when it comes to rigid scope inspection!
Here are three simple tips for evaluating rigid scopes.
1. Look at the distal end under magnification. Check for debris, cracks, chips and sealant deterioration. If dirty, clean and reinspect. Remove damaged scopes from use.
2. Visually inspect the image by looking down at something, not out into space. About 3" from the object is good.
3. When you're still not 100% sure if the image is clear, look "inside" using a device like EndoScan! If you confirm internal damage, remove it from use and repair.
