As we age, the epidermic (outer layer of the skin) thins and loses elasticity in a process known as elastosis. As this happens, a person tends to show more signs of aging and acquires more wrinkles.⠀
⠀
By restoring normal cellular function, red light and near infrared light has been shown to boost collagen, smooth wrinkles, improve clarity, balance and enhance tone, accelerate wound healing, fade scars and stretch marks, as well as a host of other benefits. Also of note, while light therapy boosted positive skin results, it also reduced an enzyme that contributes to skin damage.⠀
⠀
Red and near infrared light is also effective in the treatment of acne as red light impacts sebum production (which contributes to acne) in addition to the control of cytokines, which impacts skin inflammation. Red light, also helps by increasing blood flow thereby boosts oxygen transport. This increased flow helps the body's natural immune processes to work much quicker to clear up current outbreaks and prevent future ones. This therapy can also be combined with Blue Light to combat the bacteria that responsible for many forms of acne.⠀
