And don’t forget reading to your kids, making books accessible, gifting books to them (especially books that align with their interests), trips to the library, encouraging reading, giving them time and space to read them (not over scheduling activities and sports, or allowing excessive screen time), listening to audiobooks in the car, get apps like Libby or Kindle reader, and making trips with them to bookstores.
One teacher made a video where they read the first chapter of a book every Friday to introduce new books to her students and get some them interested in reading the whole book. I love that idea! You can do this with your children as well.

Taking some time to make art for fun. This is a quick drawing of one of my border collie doodles, Leonardo da Galloway, or as he is known in our family… Leo, Nardo, Leonardo, Pupper, Pupperuni, Pup, Doggo, Nerd, Nerdo, Gooby, Tornardo, Sir, and we call both of them “babies” because they are “just a baby”. Leo especially likes to be the baby and lays on his back cuddling with my husband and gets tummy scritches.
What do you think? Should I draw his brother Rembrandt next?
Merry Christmas! 🎄🎁 Jesus Christ is the reason for the season! ✝️💜

What a fun way to infuse art and peak interest in being outside for littles! This hands on activity can give new perspective to everyday objects. Happy stamping!
