OPA Board Elections have concluded and we’d like to thank our outgoing board members for their years of service and dedication in the roles they have held.

We are grateful for more than a decade of valuable Board service from our First Vice President, Dr. Susann Moeller who now fulfills her term. We know we will see her at OPA events and wish all the best on her next poetic endeavors!

Thank you to John Burroughs for stepping up and serving these past two years as Second Vice President. We are grateful and look forward to utilizing your skills as our Social Media Chair on the board!

Check out this upcoming event featuring award-winning poet and soon-to-be Thurber House Executive Director Barbara Fant. For a long time, this organization has brought life to Ohio through poetry by providing support and resources to poets throughout the state

Barbara Fant will be joining them on July 8 to discuss her most recent poetry collection, Joy in the Belly of a Riot, in conversation with arts educator and administrator Dionne Custer Edwards. Joy in the Belly of a Riot—which explores themes of poverty, violence, racism, and loss—is a continuation of Fant’s lifelong project of using poetry as prayer. In times of uncertainty, this collection urges us to find and build joy.
