Here is some REAL "COLUMBUS" HISTORY.
This drum beat has been used by all the Black Colleges in the world. It was created by Columbus' native the late *Dean Francis.. This inspired a local dance craze called the "Funky Disposition" which is also the name of the song. He and his fellow *Soul Rockers" were attending East High.. (Though I am not sure all of the members went to East.. Dean was one of Columbus' most talented musicians, songwriter / producer.
I remember when my cousin Kirk Bishop & Maurice Alfred brought Donny Hathaway to the Ohio theater.. Donny was a huge star at the time with the song "The Ghetto"..
