There are moments in life when hope seems completely gone.

The doctors have said all they can say. The family has cried all the tears they can cry. The plans have been made. The goodbyes have already begun.

For one family, that moment came when 69-year-old Bettina Lerman spent weeks on a ventilator battling COVID-19.

Her condition was so severe that loved ones believed the end was near.

They purchased a tombstone.

They met with a funeral home.

They began planning her funeral.

They even gave away her belongings and cleared out her apartment so others in need could benefit from what she left behind.

In their minds, they were preparing for the inevitable.

But God had another chapter to write.

On October 29, just before doctors planned to remove Lerman from life support, something extraordinary happened at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.

She woke up.

Imagine receiving that phone call.

Her son, Andrew, expected devastating news when a doctor urgently asked him to come to the hospital.

Instead, he heard words he never imagined.

"Your mother woke up."

After more than a month in a coma, the woman everyone expected to lose suddenly opened her eyes.

The family was stunned.

Medical professionals could not fully explain it.

And for Andrew, the experience forced him to think beyond what he could see.

His mother had always been a woman of deep faith. Friends, family members, and church members had spent weeks praying for her.

"So they can't explain it on the medical side. Maybe it's on the religious side," Andrew said. "I'm not that religious, but I'm starting to believe that there's something that helped her."

Then he added four simple words that captured what so many were thinking:

"She's a miracle."

Her daughter, Jennifer, described Bettina as a "prayer warrior," a woman whose faith had been evident long before this crisis ever began.

Today, Bettina continues recovering. She is breathing on her own with supplemental oxygen and undergoing physical therapy to rebuild her strength.

Her journey is not finished. Recovery still takes time.

But the woman whose family had already planned her funeral is alive.

Stories like this remind us of something we often forget when circumstances look impossible: our timeline is not God's timeline.

Sometimes the miracle is immediate.

Sometimes it arrives after weeks of waiting.

And sometimes it shows up when everyone else has already given up hope.

Whether you see this story as a medical marvel, an answer to prayer, or both, it carries a powerful reminder: never underestimate what can happen when faith endures through the darkest moments.

Because as long as God is writing the story, the final chapter has not yet been written.

If this testimony encouraged you, share it with someone who needs hope today.

One ordinary afternoon turned into a nightmare no family ever expects.

On February 12, 2018, Brian Hines watched in horror as his wife, Tina, suddenly collapsed. Within moments, she was unresponsive, not breathing, and showing no signs of life.

As frantic calls to 911 were made, Brian and a neighbor desperately performed CPR while waiting for first responders. Paramedics arrived, administered emergency medications, and repeatedly shocked Tina's heart in an effort to revive her.

Still, there was no response.

By the time she reached the hospital, Tina had reportedly gone more than 20 minutes with little or no oxygen. The outlook was grim. Doctors warned her family that even if she survived, severe brain damage was likely.

The waiting room filled with family and friends praying through tears.

Brian remembers offering a desperate prayer: "God, take everything from my life if You'll give me back Tina."

Then something unexpected happened.

After another attempt to restart her heart in the emergency room, Tina came back.

Alive.

Doctors placed her in a medically induced coma while they monitored her condition. The next day, as loved ones gathered around her hospital bed, they waited anxiously to see if she would wake up and whether her mind had survived the ordeal.

When Tina finally regained consciousness, she couldn't speak because of the breathing tube. So a notebook and pen were placed in her hands.

What she slowly wrote stunned everyone in the room:

"I-T-S-R-E-A-L."

At first, no one understood.

Was she talking about the pain? The hospital? The accident?

Then someone asked a different question.

"Heaven?"

Tina nodded yes.

According to her account, while doctors fought to save her life, she experienced something she says was beyond words. She described seeing Jesus face to face, standing with His arms open wide. Behind Him was a brilliant light unlike anything she had ever seen.

"The unbelievable rest and peacefulness of what I was experiencing was Jesus standing there," Tina later recalled.

What happened next was just as remarkable.

Despite a cracked sternum, broken ribs, and the trauma of cardiac arrest, Tina was discharged from the hospital only four days later. Even more surprising, she reportedly showed no signs of brain impairment.

Today, she enjoys an active life and has even trained for long-distance races.

Her story continues to inspire people because it points to something many quietly wonder about: Is there more beyond this life?

Whether someone sees her experience as a miracle, a near-death experience, or a testimony of faith, Tina's message has never changed.

"God is real in my life. Jesus is real. Heaven is real."

In a world filled with uncertainty, her story is a powerful reminder that hope can appear in the darkest moments, and that sometimes the message people bring back is simple:

There is more to the story than what we can see.

If this testimony encouraged you, share it with someone who needs hope today.

When people hear the word "purity," most think about dating, temptation, or the challenges young people face before marriage.

But what if one of the greatest purity battles actually happens after the wedding?

That is the message former adult film star turned ministry leader Brittni De La Mora is sharing alongside her husband, Richard. And it is a reminder many believers need to hear.

After experiencing radical life transformation through faith in Jesus Christ, Brittni now spends her life helping others pursue God's design for relationships. Recently, she and Richard opened up about an often-overlooked truth: purity is not just about getting to marriage. It is also about protecting what happens inside marriage.

"As far as keeping it pure within a marriage," Brittni explained, "in order to have a fruitful marriage, you need the presence of God."

It is a simple statement, but a powerful one.

In a culture that often focuses on external appearances, the De La Moras believe the real battle begins in the heart. They encourage couples to stay rooted in Scripture, spend time with God daily, and carefully guard their minds from influences that can slowly erode intimacy, trust, and spiritual health.

"Everything we do flows from your heart," Brittni said.

Richard echoed that message, warning that unresolved anger, bitterness, and unhealthy thought patterns can quietly take root and become strongholds over time.

"The Bible says, above all else, guard your heart because everything you do flows from it," he explained. "Actions are affected by everything going on inwardly."

That truth reaches far beyond marriage. What we allow into our hearts eventually shapes our words, our decisions, and our relationships.

One of the couple's most practical pieces of advice is accountability. They emphasize transparency in conversations with members of the opposite s*x and maintaining healthy boundaries that protect trust.

Brittni says she and Richard are open with one another about their interactions and communication. For them, honesty is not about suspicion. It is about wisdom.

Richard also shared a personal practice that helps him stay focused on what is pure. If a social media account or online content could stir unhealthy desires or temptations, he removes it from his feed.

"The easiest way to eliminate a temptation is: don't put a temptation in front of you," he said.

That statement may sound straightforward, but in today's digital world, it is profoundly relevant.

Their story is a beautiful reminder that a strong marriage is not built by accident. It is built through daily choices, intentional boundaries, humility, and a continual dependence on God.

Perhaps the most encouraging part of their journey is this: no past is too broken for God to redeem.

The same God who transformed Brittni's life is still transforming hearts today. His grace restores. His truth guides. And His presence remains the foundation of every healthy, fruitful relationship.

Maybe that is the reminder someone needs today: guarding your heart is not about restriction. It is about protecting the very place where God wants to do His greatest work.
