“Feed My Sheep” is the theme of this painting from John 21. It looks like peter was confused about what to do after After Jesus’ death and resurrection, so, he went back to his old fishing job. Jesus visits him and asks if Peter loves Jesus. Peter says YES! Then Jesus direct peter to be about the business of ministry or building disciples as he tells Peter to feed his sheep. I love this Bible text. This painting represent the post resurrection meeting with Peter and Jesus. For more information visit mikelarsonart.com

I was in the hospital elevator on my way to visit my wife when the door randomly opened and this was what I saw. This poor guy just lost a loved one and the doctor was telling him. I saw it all. Then the door closed and I went to my floor. The image has been burnt into my mind. So, I had to paint what I saw. It dawned on me that as I was watching this person right in front of me, his loved one, who died, and was hopefully a Christian, was just now passing by on their way to heaven. He looked so sad and alone. I wanted to show that his family and friends would be soon surrounding him with love. So, I included a friend bringing a pie. When we don’t know what to say or do in awkward moments, we bring pie. In one momentary glimpse God showed me a complete strangers life. What we see has immediate story and life changing impact.
