Top Notch Mentality
🎓 Honoring a Legacy. Investing in the Future. 🎓
At A-One Support & Mentorship, we believe every student deserves access to opportunity, guidance, and support as they prepare for life beyond high school. The George Douglas White Jr. Legacy Scholarship was created to honor a life rooted in strength, service, and an unwavering belief in the power of education.
This scholarship supports graduating high school seniors who are stepping into their next chapter—college, trade school, or career—with purpose and determination.

“Baseline” matters:
In life and in relationships, your baseline is what you accept, tolerate, and return to when things get uncomfortable. It’s the standard you set for how you’re treated, how you show up, and how you protect your peace.
When your baseline is healthy, you don’t beg for respect, over-explain your boundaries, or shrink to keep others comfortable. You recognize alignment, effort, and consistency—and you notice when they’re missing.
Growth will raise your baseline. Healing will raise your baseline.
And once it does, you can’t go back to environments, conversations, or connections that require you to lower it.
Know your baseline.
Honor it.
And don’t apologize for maintaining it.
Thanks for an awesome conversation B Shonda Michelle!
✨ Happy Sunday ✨
Life has a way of testing your growth in the quietest moments.
Recently, I asked my best friend to stretch with me — to open the door a little wider, welcome more people in, and create space for new experiences on our yearly trips. But growth isn’t always understood by everyone. Some may question it, some may resist it, and some may even speak against it behind the scenes… not realizing that expansion isn’t a threat — it’s an assignment.
And then, at the shop, a client walked in looking for the stylist who normally cares for them, but due to personal reasons she was unavailable. I decided to take the client myself, and quickly learned of some unprofessional behavior they had previously experienced. When things had gone wrong before, we made the difficult decision to let that stylist go — not out of malice, but because excellence can’t be compromised. When you’re committed to elevating the standard, not everyone is meant to stay in the room.
Both moments reminded me of one thing: elevation exposes alignment.
Some people will resist your growth because it challenges their comfort.
Some will fall away because they can’t deliver the standard God called you to uphold.
And that’s okay.
In this season, I’m learning not to shrink, not to apologize, and not to second-guess the vision God placed in my spirit. If growth makes some uncomfortable, let them adjust or let them go — but don’t you dare stop evolving.
Everybody can’t go where you’re going… and everybody can’t serve at the level you’re called to serve.
Keep rising. Keep expanding. Keep leveling up. The right people will support the growth, show up with excellence, and help carry the vision — not question it.
