Trigger is still looking for a home! 5 year old standing 14.1hh caught up on maintenance. Not currently in work, has had groundwork but has not been backed. Should make someone a really nice horse! I’m shocked he’s still here! $750 adoption fee. Located in Pueblo CO

Since we started this rescue 11.5 yrs ago, we have only taken back (due to either negligence or breach of contract) a total of 4 horses, 2 of those being very recent. We don’t like having to take horses back (with the exception of adopter returns, we will ALWAYS welcome and accept those), but when we are continually lied to about the most basic things, like care, we always want to do what is in the best interest of the horses. When multiple people call (to include a vet) stating care concerns and we get lied to when asking about these concerns, then all conversations afterwards feel like they can’t be trusted. We also have strict rules in our contracts for the safety and wellbeing of the horses. And breaching those contractual agreements, will result in horses coming back to the rescue. Being accused of taking the horses back so we can make money off them is an absolute joke. We adopt these horses out at such a loss monetarily because we want them not only completely ready with all the maintenance things done, but we want them to go to good homes. Hence the reason why we adopt out horses at costs much much lower than market and what we have into them. I can count on one hand the horses we adopted out that the rescue got more than what we had into them. All of that being said, we are welcoming back to the rescue Ember and Ranger.

Three weeks ago we took in this gelding, Shiloh, from a home where the people had dementia and were forgetting to feed the horses. His friend sadly starved to death, and Shiloh was well on his way to the same fate. Thankfully neighbors stepped in and were able to coordinate him coming to us. He’s now been dewormed, sand cleared, vaccinated and had his teeth done. His teeth were really bad with huge hooks and ulcers all over his tongue and cheeks from how sharp he was 🥺
He’s looking so much better now and I’m so shocked how quickly his personality has shown thru now that he’s feeling better. He loves people and will rest his head on your shoulder and give kisses. 🥰🥰🥰
The first two pics are him now the next three are of his mouth before his dental and the last ones are his intake pics.
