July is National Bystander Awareness Month.

This month serves as a reminder that creating safer communities is something we can all be part of. Being an active bystander doesn’t mean putting yourself in danger.

Sometimes it means checking in with a friend, interrupting an uncomfortable situation, offering someone a safe ride home, or simply asking, “Are you okay?”

Small actions can change the course of someone’s life.

If you’re interested in learning practical ways to safely intervene, SARC offers presentations and prevention training for schools, workplaces, churches, and community groups throughout the Brazos Valley.

If you or someone you know has experienced sexual violence, SARC is here to help. Contact us to learn more about our free support services: 979-731-1000
