No Pressure Cooker Khichadi Recipe
Ingredients
• ½ cup rice
• ½ cup moong dal
• 1 tbsp ghee
• ½ tsp cumin seeds
• ½ tsp mustard seeds(optional)
• ¼ tsp asafoetida aka hing (optional)
• 1 tsp ginger (grated-optional)
• ¼ tsp turmeric
• Salt to taste
• 3 cups water
Steps:
1. Wash rice & dal together.
2. Heat ghee, add cumin, asafoetida, mustard seeds & ginger.
3. Add rice, dal, turmeric, salt & water.
4. Use a woke if no pressure cooker, cover the lid and simmer till soft.
5. Mash slightly, add a little ghee on top.
