Here are my 5 tips for first-time home buyers when starting the home buying process! 🏠

1. Start saving money as early as possible! Buying a home comes with expenses including the down payment, closing costs and other repairs you might need to make after moving in!

2. Get pre-approved! This should be one of your first steps, so you know what price range you can afford!

3. Avoid making large purchases! Try to avoid buying a car, maxing out credit cards or even switching jobs! Your lender will do a final credit check before closing so it’s important to not have any surprises!

4. Stick to your budget! Look for houses within your personal budget, even if you got approved for more! This gives you more wiggle room if you need to negotiate an offer!

5. Hire a local agent! Find an agent that is willing to go above and beyond and always puts you first! As a buyer, there is no downside to using an agent since sellers typically pay the commission!
