šØ July is bursting with color, creativity, and BIG imagination! I can't wait to create with all of my amazing young artists in Madison, Clinton, and for the very first time... Stonington! āØ I'll also be spending my Thursdays at the Scranton Memorial Library Summer Drop-Off Camp in Madison! I can't wait to fill the summer with colorful projects, creative adventures, and plenty of messy, joy-filled art with an amazing group of young artists.
Every commission starts with one tiny problemā¦
I have a picture in my headā¦ and somehow I have to convince my hand to draw it. š
The sketch stage is equal parts confidence, curiosity, and quietly hoping Future Me knows what sheās doing. Thankfully, she usually figures it out.
Now excuse me while I continue making very confident-looking marks. šØāØ
If youāve ever wondered what the beginning of a commission looks likeā¦ itās usually controlled chaos. š
Thereās a lot of scribbling, second-guessing, erasing, staring at it from across the room, and pretending I totally meant to do that. Then, somewhere along the way, the mess starts making sense.
Hereās to trusting the processāeven when it looks like a beautiful disaster at first. šØāØ
New town, new little artists, and I couldnāt be more excited! šØāØ
After 30 years of teaching art to thousands of kids, Iām thrilled to be bringing my classes to Stonington for the very first time. If your young artist loves to create, imagine, and come home proudly saying, āLook what I made!āāIād love to meet them.
