Currently looking for a licensed veterinary technician to fill both full and part time positions. We are located in Clinton Township and are one of the only ER hospitals in the area. We are a high volume, fast paced 24 hour hospital and strive to provide excellent and comprehensive care in a compassionate and caring way. We have close relationships with the daytime veterinary hospitals around us and work closely with them to provide the after-hours care they seek for their patients and clients. Ideally looking for candidates with 1-2 years of clinical experience. As an LVT, the job requirements are as listed:
• Be able to triage cases both over the phone and in person
• Knowledgeable of symptoms and treatments of different types of toxins
• Be able to multitask in a high stress environment
• Provide compassionate patient care
• Must be comfortable with anesthesia
• Must have good basic tech skills (venipuncture, catheter placement, can position correctly for radiographs, etc.)
• Good client communication skills
• Ideally trained with Idexx in house laboratory machines but that is not a requirement.
• The clinic is willing to train on the job for more specialty type skills (CPR, blood/plasma transfusions, chest and abdominal tap assistance, feeding tube management, trauma management, ER surgeries (GDV, splenectomy, etc.).
