Tineshas Berries

Berries are finally starting to ripen again. These are the bigger variety so they take a little bit longer. They require a lot of water! There’s still quite a bit of green and red out here, supply is still limited but they’re starting to ripen finally!!

We want to thank all the wonderful customers and people who braved the heat today and came out to Farmers on First to see all of us vendors! We truly thank you! Without all of you, we wouldn’t be there.

We are working on getting on the “treats” ready for tomorrow! Blackberry muffins, Seedless blackberry muffins, PB&J cookies, blackberry icebox cakes, lemon-blackberry icebox cakes, and a couple other surprises! Can’t wait to see you all tomorrow 11-2 Farmers on First!

We’ve been asked, “what do you mean that blackberry plants are a lot of work? It’s just plant them and let them grow.” Well, this is 1 single plant. She’s done bearing fruit this year, so her stalks need to be cut, removed, and burned. Why? So the crown of the plant will stop putting nutrients into a “dead” stalk and put them into next years stalks instead. It’s a lot of work. Knowing what plants need cut, where to cut them, how to remove them without damaging the new stalks.
