✨ Stronger partnerships start with adaptive leadership. ✨
Yesterday, ULI Cleveland’s Women’s Leadership Initiative kicked off Session 1 of the Executive Leadership Series with a sold-out room and an energizing conversation on building resilient public-private partnerships. Attendees explored relational leadership and adaptive thinking through a hands-on workshop led by Susan Walker (Gestalt Institute of Cleveland), followed by a case study panel featuring Debbie Berry, Joyce Pan Huang, Yvette Ittu, and Mackenzie Makepeace—then capped the evening with meaningful connections at happy hour.
Thank you to our incredible speakers and participants for showing up ready to learn, share, and lead. This is exactly what executive-level, real-world leadership looks like.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Historic Roots, Modern Vision: A Young Leaders Tour of The Hawthorne yesterday!
Together with , we explored the transformation of the 1917 Hawthorne Elementary School into thoughtfully designed apartments. Once facing decay and demolition, this historic building has been reimagined as a source of pride and new life for the neighborhood.
Special thanks to Josh Rosen for sharing the story of how a group of Oberlin students grew into an innovative development team—and for giving us a look at The Hawthorne’s journey.
We closed the evening with snacks and drinks. 🍻

On August 1, ULI Cleveland hosted an UrbanPlan Volunteer Training session — bringing together industry professionals passionate about shaping the future of our communities!
Participants explored how land use decisions get made and learned how to support high school, university students, and professionals as they take on real-world development challenges through the UrbanPlan curriculum.
