Kado update!
We’ve got a pretty big update on this guy… and honestly, we’re still wrapping our heads around it.
Kado went in for his heartworm workup and we decided to retest him… and he came up NEGATIVE.
We ran a confirmation test just to be sure… also negative.
So as of right now, Kado is 100% heartworm negative.
We’re not sure if the original test back in August at the shelter was a false positive or what happened, but we do use a more in depth type of testing, and we feel very confident in these results. Safe to say, we are not mad about it.
Now onto the rest of Kado’s glow up…
This 70 pound teddy bear is absolutely thriving in his foster home. He lives with three foster dog brothers and honestly… he could not care less about them. No issues, no drama, just coexisting like a pro.
He is fully potty and house trained and will let you know when he needs to go out by standing at the door or giving a little whine.
He’s also living with a 5 month old baby and doing amazing. He’s incredibly gentle, will occasionally walk over for a quick sniff, and then goes right back to minding his own business.
Kado is still coming out of his shell a bit and figuring out life outside of the shelter, but he’s settling in more every day. He’s been around chickens, ducks, and goats and has done great. He loves his walks, loves car rides (shotgun rider for life), and really just wants someone to hang out with. If you sit down, expect a 70 pound shadow right next to you.
And yes… we know. Big, scary, intimidating pitbull.
Except he’s not. Not even a little.
He just wants love, a safe place, and someone to follow around like it’s his full time job.
Kado is scheduled for a full dental cleaning tomorrow, and after that… he will be officially AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION.
Kado would fit into just about any home. Other dogs, farm animals, kids (with boundaries), busy households… he’s just happy to be included.
Enjoy some pictures of Kado hanging out with his two legged foster brother today! 😍

Gladys update!
Miss girl is officially 50 pounds!!!
When we got her back, she was only 39 pounds and skin and bones. She’s still on the thinner side, but she looks SO much better and we’re really proud of how far she’s come.
And yes… she is still looking for her home.
Gladys is a one year old German Shepherd who does well with other dogs. She would love a fenced yard, but it’s not a dealbreaker for the right home.
She can be nervous with a lot of fast movement, so we are recommending a home with kids around 12 and up. Once she warms up, she does really well and builds nice connections.
She’s been bounced around more than any dog should, and she deserves a home where she feels safe, loved, and understood.
She’s a great dog. She just needs someone who is around more often than not and can give her the structure and consistency she thrives on. She’s also not a fan of being crated, so that’s something her future home will need to work with.
Gladys is ready. Now we just need her person.
