Black History Month is to focus attention on the contributions of African Americans.

During my genealogy research I did find out that my G-G grandfather Alfred Pryor was in the Civil War, and he was a slave, I have papers stating he was a slave because they could see the marks from the lashes on his back and he could not read or write.

It honors all Black people from all periods of U.S. history, from the enslaved people first brought over from Africa in the early 17th century to African Americans living in the United States today.

As a new week unfolds, it brings with it fresh opportunities waiting to be explored and embraced. Whether it's a chance to conquer new challenges, make meaningful connections, or pursue personal growth, the start of a new week is a reminder that each day is a blank page ready to be filled with achievements and experiences.
