Reasons to Consider a Database Cleanup:

1. You want to make sure you are getting the most out of your investment in the fundraising database
2. Reports aren’t reliable
3. Staff members are frustrated and unable to efficiently perform their daily tasks
4. Queries take too long and are not accurate
5. Monthly financial reconciliation is an arduous process
6. Late, lost and inactive constituents continue to be included in segmentations
7. Segmentations are difficult, often wrong or not mutually exclusive
8. Staff turnover means the “person who knew it all” is no longer available to decipher data codes
9. Data is everywhere – with the same, or contradictory, information tracked in multiple locations
10. The organization is entering a capital campaign or other notable change in focus or initiative
11. A recent merger or acquisition was completed
12. New leadership has evolving needs contradictory to the previous team’s focus
13. There appear to be duplicate records everywhere – or multiple household records causing challenges
14. Database functionality is so bad; discussions have evolved from “fixing it” to “replacing it”

A comprehensive system audit can be completed in 2 weeks with cleanup commencing immediately. Financial break-even for a comprehensive process is 12-24 months. This is how long it takes to cover consulting fees for the process. After the break-even horizon, all cost savings and improved efficacy is perpetual with the proper administration.

May we all adapt to this new normal in a healthy and productive way seeing it as an opportunity upon which to cease and not a burden to carry.

Barney & Associates has practiced social distancing from the very beginning with the availability of remote and cloud computing.

We remain ready to work with you to:

• Continue current projects and engagements
• Assist with any operational needs which arise due to adjusted work schedules and capacities
• Provide system evaluation, cleanup and analysis services you have otherwise been waiting to do

We will continue to follow guidance provided by authorities whenever possible as it relates to social distancing. Meetings will be considered on a case-by-case basis during this time and limited whenever possible without adversely impacting the quality of the service provided.

Wishing you all good health.

The Western Reserve Historical Society has elected to close until April due to Coronavirus. As such the meeting space is no longer available, and we must postpone.

We will try again later this year – hopefully late Spring or early Summer.
